Three-dimensional analysis of a loamy-clay soil using pore and solid chord distributions

Les distributions de cordes dans des milieux poreux modeles sont presentees. Nous avons analyse la repartition des phases solide et poreuse d'un echantillon de sol par les distributions de cordes. Des coupes seriees espacees de 100 μm ont ete realisees dans un echantillon de sol impregne de resine. Les images 2D de 160 coupes ont ete utilisees pour fabriquer une reconstruction 3D du systeme. Les images 2D initiales, l'image 3D reconstruite et des images 2D calculees a partir du milieu 3D ont ete caracterisees. Nous avons montre que la phase solide du sol etudie est repartie de facon homogene et isotrope dans le systeme et qu'une image 2D est suffisante pour caracteriser correctement le milieu. Pour des tailles de pores comprises entre 500 μm et 2 mm, les distributions de cordes de pores calculees pour les images 2D dans les trois directions orthogonales, et pour le milieu 3D sont Semblables. Une image 2D est donc suffisante pour etudier le reseau poreux a cette echelle. En revanche, pour les pores de taille superieure a 2 mm, nous avons montre qu'une seule image n'est pas suffisante pour le decrire, mais que huit images 2D au plus, espacees de 2 mm, le sont.
