Theory for electric charging in flow of low-conductivity liquids through screens

Abstract This paper presents a theory for the electric charging process which occurs when low-conductivity fluids pass through a screen. It is shown that the process can be characterized by a charging electromotive force. Explicit analytic expression are derived for the charging current for a wide range of flow rates and fluid conductivities.
