Image Segmentation Based on Rough Set Theory

Image segmentation is an important problem in digital image processing.Threshold segmentation method is a typical image segmentation method,and the choice of thresholds is an important aspect that affects the quality of image segmentation.For improving accuracy of segmentation,rough set theory is applied to determine threshold in this paper.Histogram is defined as the lower approximation of the rough set of image,and the Histon is defined as the upper one.Thus roughness is calculated,and then the effective segmentation threshold can be determined.Experimental results show that the algorithm has high segmentation accuracy compared with classical threshold segmentation method.
