The study of city public traffic domain standard is important for efficient city management and national ITS construction. The lacking of ontology-based domain resources causes no common knowledge can be shared by users and domain inefficient resources utilizing. Due to the specific character of ontology which describes domain concepts and relationships explicitly, this paper introduced ontology into city public traffic information retrieval for enhancing the service quality. The application realizes knowledge based and semantic suited retrieval, which is also the first step for web-oriented city intelligent public traffic information service.
