The invention provides a method for establishing X2 through a gateway. The method comprises the steps that a home base station acquires the IP address of a neighboring base station through a transmission network layer address discovery process; the home base station sends the acquired IP address of the neighboring base station to an X2 gateway; and the X2 gateway launches X2 interface establishing with the neighboring base station or launches an eNB configuration update process with the neighboring base station. According to the method, the influence on an Acer station is reduced; the configuration complexity of an operator is reduced; and X2 switching is feasible.
