E-business services are a very good solution, for a great number of economic or government agents, to provide their products and services ubiquitously on the market, within the economic environment. The efficiency of services and products delivery is increased by accessing them by the clients using handheld devices, through mobile or wireless communication networks. In literature, such e-business services are often referred to as “mobile business”. This paper presents a stock market exchange platform, as a mobile business example, developed in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) approach, which can be accessed using smartphones with Android OS. The Bucharest Stock Exchange provides the informational data for the e-business service. A Web service realizes the data connection between the service provider and the mobile clients, on 4G LTE and IEEE S02.lln Wi-Fi channels, using SOAP and REST protocols. The Web service time response was evaluated for both types of data channels and protocols and a statistical analysis, through a t-test, was performed. The amount and cost of the transferred data within the e-business platform is minimized by the Web service. The platform can be extended and configured to comply with different business and application integration patterns and can be integrated in cloud environment.
