Book Review: Nonlinear Electronic Circuits

However, this present text is well-written and has a clear, concise presentation. It has numerous examples and should appeal to students with a strong practical interest in switching circuits. In particular, Chapter 4 is welcome, since it covers the design of a wide variety of synchronous counters of the 'up', 'down' and 'bidirectional' types. This is an area which has been much neglected by many authors in the past and is also one which causes difficulties for the unwary circuit constructor. The whole approach of the book is geared to 'pencil-and-paper' designs of fairly small circuits. No indication is given as to how these techniques might fare in the design of more realistic situations or in a CAD environment. D. H.
