BP Imaging Algorithm for UWB-TWDR

A BP(Back Project) imaging algorithm for ultra-wideband through-wall detecting radar(UWB-TWDR) is presented by modifying the SAR BP imaging algorithm to adapt to the special conditions in UWB-TWDR. These conditions include reflection, refraction and chromatic dispersion of wideband signal generated by the wall and lack of information caused by limited number of antennas in the antenna array. The features of propagation of ultra-wideband electric-magnetic wave through wall are taken account in the algorithm, so the influence of wall could be removed, and the blur generated by limited antenna number is depressed effectively. Imaging results of simulation data are gived. The effect of the length of synthetic aperture on detecting scope and imaging precision is studied. With the increase of the length of synthetic aperture, the imaging precision increases, while the detecting scope decreases.
