A COFDM modem designed for terrestrial broadcasting with a high degree of flexibility is under development. This equipment will make it possible to test different parameter values such as number of carriers, length of guard interval, position and width of spectral cut-outs etc. in laboratory tests and field trials. The result of such tests will hopefully give valuable input to the standardisation process in Europe.
