Case Study: Implementation of a Virtual Instrument on a Dynamically Reconfigurable Platform

This paper discusses our experiences in porting a virtual instrumentation machine, which is a tool to create virtual instruments for the measurement of sound and vibrations to a dynamically reconfigurable platform. Hereby we follow a generic approach and we focus on maximizing reusability of elements that are available in the software based environment. Furthermore we analyze the final result and discuss the benefits and drawbacks of the reconfigurable platform with associated CAD tools we chose to use.
