The design and implementation of a dual processor graphics terminal

Abstract This paper describes the use of a dedicated microprocessor as a video controller. The microprocessor executes various routines to generate the addresses required to extract the video data at the correct rate. The video memory is a 64 k dual port memory which is shared with a system microprocessor. The video display gives up to two windows into this memory. The dual port memory is capable of supplying data at a maximum rate of 32 Mbit/s to the video processing logic.
