VADIS: A Video Analysis, Display and Indexing System

Automated detection of scene changes for indexing video has been an important research topic in recent years [1]. We present a demonstration of a software prototype, called VADIS, a Video Analysis, Display and Indexing System. Its functionality includes realtime indexing of incoming live video stream using color histogram based frame di erencing, non-real-time cut detection and indexing of Motion JPEG or MPEG-1 video les. It includes a feature to save the indices and the storyboard generated during the indexing process. More information on the system may be found in [2].
