Semiquantitative at-line measurement system for multiresidues of pesticide in food based on the ATR spectroscopy

This paper describes a new nondestructive measuring method for multiresidues of pesticide in the agricultural products. The proposal method uses Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy of attenuated total reflection method (ATR spectroscopy). The concentration region of pesticide multiresidues in the agricultural products could be measured rapidly. The partial least squares regression models of the typical pesticides were calibrated by a training set of lettuce heads produced in the fields. The measuring time is about ten minutes that is the shortest among the conventional method of analytical chemistry, of which measuring time are some hours. It could be noted that the pesticide application could be properly controlled by the at-line measurement based on the proposal method. This paper also describes the validation of this method by using the test set of lettuces and some discussions about the improvement and the, vide application or food safety and inspection.
