A bag filter dust collector used in existing coal-fired power plants has caused many problems. The filter bag used for the dust collector has excellent performance for dry dust. However, it is known that the bag filter has poor dust collection performance in high-humidity aerosol. In addition, the replacement cycle is too short, and the operation cost is too high. Therefore, in the present work, we studied a metal filter that can replace it. Besides, the performance of the metal filter was evaluated at a coal-fired power plant. We carried out an experiment with replacing the existing bag filter with a new metal filter. We found from the experiment that downstream concentration after the dust collector was controlled under the standard limits of 2 mg/ ㎥.
