RPAS - ATM Integration Demonstration - Real-Time Simulation Results

RAID is one of nine European projects co-financed by SESAR Joint Undertaking with the purpose to investigate the integration of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) in the non-segregated airspaces. The main objective of this project is to successfully and safely fly an RPAS in un-segregated airspace in a multi-aircraft and manned flight environment. Both Real-Time simulations with Humans – in – the –loop (RTS-HIL) and Flight Trails in several different scenarios are foreseen in the project. En-Route Operations of the RPAS, entering and leaving a Temporary Segregated Area from/to an unrestricted managed airspace, En-Route Operations of the RPAS under C2L security threats, separation management procedures and DAA system generated maneuvers, will be examples of the scenarios which will be tested in RTS and in-flight trials during the project. Human, Safety and Security Performances, and also DAA system performances will be the set of key areas which will be considered to quantitatively or qualitatively measures the project objectives.
