A new method for vector generation

Abstract An algorithm for the computation of constants in an equation determining the smoothest digital representation of a straight line with slope α = arctan ( P I P T is presented. The equation is based upon structural properties. A fast hardware generator, given the constants, is proposed. The vector generator is primarily intended for a applications where a given line is generated several times with high speed.
