Modeling of Populations

Virtual human models are becoming widespread in computer graphics applications such as virtual reality applications, simulations, and games. Usually, due to the complexity of human bodies, realistic shapes are built by means of an exhaustive and long process of graphic design. In addition, if an application requires the presence of groups and crowds of characters, a diversity of shapes and types of animations is necessary to realistically populate a virtual environment. As a consequence, the artists involved should manually create such multiplicity, increasing both the complexity of their task and the time needed to accomplish it.
