In the application of broadband phased array radar,broadband beamforming that can reject broadband interferences may have influence on the pulse compression of linear frequency modulation signal.The pulse compression performance after broadband beamforming can be improved by first transforming the data to the frequency domain using a fast Fourier transform(FFT).The data is then beamformed in each frequency bin,which facilitates pulse compression.Simulations show that this method maintains the broadband beamforming and pulse compression performance of the sliding window method with only 10% of the computational costs.Thus the algorithm is more suitable for real-time radar signal processing.
