Mesure de stress psychologique (MSP): Se sentir stresse-e

Considering the existing measures of stress used in current researches, particularly in regard to the contusion between effects and sources of stress, and in light of their weak empirical power, a new measure was developed. The Psychological State of Stress Measure (PSSM) relates to the subjective experience of feeling stressed, based on S3 affective, cognitive, behavioural and physical descriptors. Data on content and hypothetico-deductive construct validity, internal and temporal reliability, reliability of verbal reports, as well as on discriminant and concurrent validity are reported. With a structure which is methodologically independent of sources of stress, and by not measuring a pathological state, the PSSM becomes a new point of reference in the study of stress. The PSSM avoids the circularity of "stress-stressors" by not making reference to these concepts, and eventually makes possible the evaluation of the impact of psychological stress on health.
