It is a great honor and privilege for us to present the program of the EMSOFT 2008 conference. The program covers a wide spectrum of issues related to embedded systems software, including modeling, implementation, optimization, model-based design, operating systems, file systems support, performance analysis and scheduling, networking, and energy-aware and real-time embedded systems.
Interest in the conference has been confirmed by the submission of papers from all over the world. A total of 110 submissions were received, of which 28 papers were accepted for presentation at the conference. Because of the format of the conference and the high number of submissions, many good papers could not be included. The papers were selected after a rigorous review process based on their originality, technical quality, and relevance to the conference. Each submitted paper was reviewed by at least three members of the program committee. The expert opinions of many external reviewers were invaluable, for which we express our sincere gratitude.
EMSOFT 2008 is again co-locating with CODES+ISSS and CASES, two major embedded systems conferences, in the Embedded Systems Week (ESWEEK). ESWEEK also includes six satellite workshops, on topics ranging from education to multimedia, security, cyber-physical systems, system design, and storage.
This year, EMSOFT is honored to host the ACM Turing Award Lecture by the 2007 Turing Award winners: Edmund M. Clarke, Allen E. Emerson, and Joseph Sifakis.
