Design and implementation of data synchronization in embedded TCM system based on SyncML

The information of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) prescriptions is too mass and complicated to grasp for most learners. Therefore there commonly exists a gap between dialectic classification and the choice of TCM prescriptions in clinic and teaching. The system, described in this paper, is implemented with the techniques regarding the embedded development and heterogeneous database synchronization. And it is designed as a TCM information system providing functions such as retrieval of syndromes, recipes and herbs, assisted prescribing, mobile data synchronization, and so on. The synchronization module is secondly developed on Funambol framework, which is an open implementation of SyncML, a common industry protocol, in order to achieve heterogeneous data synchronization between subsystems and improve spreading of the TCM knowledge.
