A Novel Reconfiguration Strategy for Active Distribution Network Considering Maximum Power Supply Capability

In this paper, a novel reconfiguration strategy for active distribution network considering maximum power supply capability (PSC) is proposed. Firstly, a PSC index (PSCI) is proposed to evaluate the real-time security level of distribution network. Then, a novel reconfiguration strategy is developed for enhancing the PSCI of distribution network when the PSCI is lower than a pre-defined warning value. The reconfiguration strategy can be integrated to distribution management system (DMS) as a preventive control method to prevent outages of customers, which can significantly increase the reliability of distribution network. Case studies are carried out by using a typical 33-bus distribution network, and simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed reconfiguration strategy, which has a good engineering application prospect.
