On the Capacity of Clipped OFDM Channels

We provide a new approach to analyzing the capacity of the clipped OFDM channel. Our analysis shows that existing clipping models lead to drastically underestimated capacity computations. Our approach eschews the so-called clipping noise and treats the clipper more analytically. We also introduce and analyze the clipping ratio threshold, above which error-free communication is guaranteed in an ideal clipped OFDM channel. The results are extended to the clipped OFDM channel with AWGN
