The address distribution method includes: judging whether a PD (prefix delegation) request of the DHCPv6 carries interface address distribution identification or not by the aid of the DHCPv6 server; generating an interface address section according to configured interface address section length and the interface address distribution identification carried in the PD request of the DHCPv6 if the interface address distribution identification is carried in the PD request of the DHCPv6; transmitting the interface address section and 64-bit prefix acquired from a prefix address pool of the DHCPv6 server to the RG equipment so as to generate available IPv6 address for user equipment. Available address source under the RG equipment is enabled to be controllable by a user, the user can set quantity of address sources under the RG equipment according to needs so as to avoid severe waste of the address sources under the condition of 64-bit address prefix.
