Enhanced Autocalibration of WIM Systems

This paper describes autocalibration of weigh-in-motion (WIM) systems, the algorithm of which allows for ongoing compensation of factors interfering with system accuracy. Simulation test results are presented that have been supported through measuring experiments on a WIM site equipped with two piezoelectric polymer load sensors. The predominance of the autocalibration method over the preliminarilly weighed vehicles calibration method is proven by the test results.
