Often the instructor will have to create a special answer category titled "It Depends" to handle smoothly an unexpected answer that cannot easily be categorized. This answer should be investigated later on, during the debate. 5. Maintain QuestionlAnswer Approach. The instructor should be directing the debate by injecting questions such as: Do you agree? Is his reasoning the same as yours? Can you help him out? Exactly what is it about his argument that you don't like? How do you respond to that criticism? Since your fellow student here wasn't listening, would you mind repeating your argument? Is the following a fair interpretation of your theory? That's true, but why does this lead to that? Isn't your argument answering a different question? Haven't we argued in this course that when this happens that happens? What is your definition of that term? What about this counterexample?
