PEAK PERIOD TOLLS: PRECEPTS AND PROSPECTS. IN: TRANSPORTATION PLANNING METHODS APPLICATIONS. PROCEEDINGS, THIRD NATIONAL CONFERENCE, DALLAS, TEXAS, APRIL 22-26, 1991

Discussion centers on the following questions facing transportation planners considering peak period tolls: what are the benefits; what amount of toll might be needed; what effect would a peak period pricing strategy have on the problems of concern in larger urban areas, such as traffic congestion, air quality, economic development and shortfalls in revenue to fund transportation infrastructure; and what is the outlook for getting such a strategy implemented? The paper attempts to provide some answers to above questions.
