Antenna array design in MIMO radar using cyclic difference sets and genetic algorithm

This paper addresses the issue of how to properly arrange the transmitting and receiving (Tx/Rx) antenna elements of MIMO radar in order to achieve the best spatial resolution. By combining the positive features of cyclic difference sets (CDSs) and genetic algorithm (GA), a hybrid optimization method is proposed for the optimal design of MIMO radar arrays. Numerical results are also presented, showing the variety in array configurations and notable improvement in the spatial resolution.
