Dewatering Performance of Vibrating Screen

This paper presents a method for quantifying the dewatering performance of the vibrating screen so that it can be designed to meet the dewatering requirements of capacity and moisture content. An experimental linear vibrating screen was constructed and was tested with wet coal. The experimental results showed that the rate of dewatering depends on the instantaneous moisture content of the wet coal. Analysis of the experimental results showed that the dewatering performance of the vibrating screen can be quantified by three parameters. The three parameters allow the dewatering performance of the vibrating screen to be quantified in terms of the separation of free water, removal of surface moisture from the wet coal and the vibratory excitation. The experimental results also showed that the vibrating screen with a larger amplitude of vibration has a better dewatering performance.
