Ministry of Defence contracts and standards

This chapter focuses on UK Ministry of Defense contracts and standards. UK Ministry of Defense contracts are normally subject to English law, denominated in pounds sterling and refer to a set of Standard Conditions. In the Ministry of Defense, quite a large number of special conditions exist. When justified, by example through frequent use, such conditions appear in a series of forms called Defense Conditions (DefCons). A full list of special contract conditions in the DefCon series is contained in DefCon 313 A. Defense Specifications (DefSpecs) are used to cover stores and technical procedures that are used by the Ministry of Defense. These documents are gradually being replaced by Defense Standards (DefStans).
