ANALYSIS OF EDI RESISTANCE BEHAVIOR

EDI (electronic data interchange) is often considered an indicator of mutual cooperation between a carrier and a shipper, as well as between a customer and a supplier in the supply chain. In this article, the authors (1) propose a method of measuring a firm's EDI resistance behavior that differs substantially from the traditional method of measuring a firm's EDI adoption/non-adoption behavior, and (2) investigate whether the factors that have significant impact on increasing the firm's EDI resistance behavior are different from those that impact the adoption behavior. In addition to testing the factors influencing EDI resistance, the authors examine whether the EDI resistance behavior differs significantly between shippers and carriers.
