A computerized system for cephalometric superimposition

The procedure of superimposition in cephalometry is a method to observe an overview of growth changes and to evaluate the effects of orthodontics treatments on the jaws and teeth with the comparison of head/films taken before and after treatment. A new system for automatic superimposition is developed. The distance measures-based curve matching and the fuzzy-based weighting function are combined to perform the feature superimposition with ambiguity. The results show the feasibility of the proposed technique.
