Session Setup Procedure and Frequency Allocation Mechanism for Device-to-Device Communications in Cellular Networks

Recently, telecommunication companies and standard organization, such as 3GPP, study the new technology to resolve increased data traffic. Especially the Device-to-Device (D2D) communication technology receives attention because it reduces the overhead of base station. Therefore, for applying D2D communication in the cellular Networks, we propose an initiation model using a decision making procedure and frequency allocation mechanism. In the performance evaluation part, first, we analyze the throughput of communication types by distance. Secondly, we demonstrate that D2D communication throughput using the proposed mechanism is higher than D2D communication throughput without the proposed mechanism. These proposed mechanisms will be able to help D2D communication more active in the cellular networks. Also we expect the number of M2M device is increased through these proposed mechanisms.
