Central nervous system: motor mechanisms.

Publications that might be included under the above title appear at an overwhelming, accelerating rate. For example, articles on muscle receptors alone totaled 575 in the last ten-year period as compared to 137 in the pre vious decade. From this abundance the authors have chosen to concentrate on aspects of segmental involvement in motor control, and in the organiza tion of supraspinal influence on motor activity. Much relevant literature on cellular aspects of spinal reflexology, not mentioned here, has been exten sively reviewed in several books (1-4) or covered elsewhere in this volume.
