Abstract In this paper we present the dynamics of making both the internet-based interpersonal communication and the content of the World Wide Web (WWW) accessible by the languageimpaired persons or Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) users. To cope with this problem we introduce e-AAC, an infrastructure of multimedia concept representations for database-aware services and applications. We present the main features of e-AAC in terms of design and implementation characteristics, along with usage properties and applications.
