Is it all in vain? The Effect of Systems Development Education on Practice: The Multiview — Example

For a number of years diffusion and adoption of system development methods has been subject to research. One important factor is education and training. However, research on the role of formal university education and the adoption of system development methodologies is quite sparse. This is the background for this study The research investigates to which degree a methodology taught for 12 years at a university has been adopted by the students and the organisations they are working for and what the role of education was in this process. Reasons for adoption and non-adoption are discussed to answer whether methodology education at universities is all in vain.
