In this paper a method is presented, which reproduces logistics processes on construction sites with a conventional material flow simulator. So it is possible to test and verify different logistics strategies before a civil work starts. In the beginning the state of the art concerning the development of construction logistics and simulation of site processes is given. In this context different supply and warehouse strategies for construction sites are presented. The method is structured in system load generation, building a conceptional model and development of reusable modules. To generate the system load the data of the CAD building model of the construction project was imported into a database and edited for simulation. Material-pure Parts were developed with material conform quantities (piece,m, t, etc.), which were connected with the time component of the timetable. In the next step the parts were composed to sections, which is the basis of the material supply. Furthermore in the database logistics standing data were put in to build logistics unities as transport or handling unities. The conceptional Simulation-Model was developed to describe logistics processes on construction sites independent to concrete projects. The question was how productive the logistics resources are in relation to different strategies. To build the computer simulation model a unit orientated material flow simulator was used and new universal units were developed to describe the site resources. The universality of the units was important to use them for different projects. With an example project different supply and warehousing strategies were tested and evaluated. It is shown, how the system reacts on variation of constrains and how the key figures like throughput or waiting times shift. In the end a summary is given and universal conclusions are made. In the outlook the research demand is given concerning further units and a systematically analysis of further logistics site strategies.
