The Biological Role of Neocortex

The neocortex is the part of the brain that enlarged progressively during the evolution of mammals reaching its greatest development in the great apes and man. But the known properties of the neurons of the neocortex hardly begin to explain the behaviour they bring about, so we need some crucial new insight.
