Synthesis of 3-Deazaclitocwe [2-Amino-3-nitro-4-(β-D-ribofuranosylamino)pyridine] as Cytotoxic Agent

Abstract The 2-amino-3-nitro-4-(β-D-ribofuranosylamino)pyridine (2) was synthesized by glycosylation of 2,4-diamino-3-nitropyridine with 1-0-acetyl-2,3,5-tri-O-benzoyl-D-ribofuranose. The 4-amino-3-nitro-1-(PD-ribofuranosyl)-2(1H)pyridinimine (6) and its tautomer 7 were also obtained. In vitro antitumor activity of compounds 2 and 7 was evaluated.
