The Convergence between Wireless Sensor Networks and the Internet of Things; Challenges and Perspectives: a Survey

In order to use Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) in the Internet of Things (IoT) a series of convergence challenges must be identified and addressed. In this work current ZigBee and 6LoWPAN network architectures are reviewed and compared to IoT requirements. As a result it is concluded that power constraints, security and quality of service parameters will be key to design heterogenuos wireless sensors, and that current research creates the basis to address these challenges.
