Hydrosol deposition in fibrous beds

Abstract Clean filter coefficients (or unit collector efficiencies) for the removal of small particles from dilute liquid suspensions by fibrous filters were calculated using different porous media models. Based on the numerical results obtained, approximate expressions of the filter coefficient were established and relate the filter coefficient with various relevant dimensionless parameters. The results were found to be in good agreement with experiments conducted as part of this study.
