PURPOSE: A pole climbing robot is provided to avoid obstacles like flanges or branches while driving by applying a scissors link structure. CONSTITUTION: A pole climbing robot comprises a gripper and multiple mecanum wheels(20). The gripper holds a target driving pole of a pillar shape. The multiple mecanum wheels are mounted on the gripper and generate traveling power for movement. The gripper comprises a fixed frame(12) and two joint type arms(14). One end of the joint type arms is pivotally mounted on both ends of the fixed frame.
