Design of Low Order Robust Controller Using the Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm

A proposed approach for a practical low order robust controller design is introduced. This approach tunes the H – ∞ loop shaping weighting function by using the Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm, then, it reduces the controller order to be simple enough to be practically implemented. The designed low order robust controller satisfies the time response constraints, in the presence of uncertainties, due to disturbance or variation of the parameters in a reasonable running time.
