Influence of Interference-Fit Riveting on Fatigue Strength

In this paper,the gain of fatigue strength of interference-fit riveting components compared with conventional riveting components is studied through tests,and the interference-fit filling effect of coronary rivet is estimated.Results show that in the middle life range the fatigue strength of interference-fit riveting increases by about 25% compared with that of conventional riveting.Based on the comparison between theoretical calculation and test results,this paper suggests that the filling coefficient of coronary rivet should be at 0.474.
