Label erasure using an imbalanced NOLM and its application in a 40Gbit/s label switching optical network

A novel and simple scheme based on the nonlinear transmission function of an imbalanced nonlinear optical loop mirror is used to realize label erasure. The scheme has been successfully applied in a 40 Gbit/s label switching optical network with 200 km transmission distance.
