Origem da hipercolesterolemia na síndrome nefrótica experimental

Foi efetuado o balanco continuo de esteroides (15 a 20 dias) em 16 ratos nefroticos (N) e 8 controles (C). Em toda a experiencia (duracao de aproximadamente 2 meses), os animais ingeriram quantidades rigorosamente iguais de uma dieta balanceada e isenta de esteroides e, foi medida regularmente sua proteinuria para avaliacao do grau de nefrose. Tambem foram medidos o colesterol e albumina no plasma. Apos o periodo experimental, os ratos foram exsanguinados. Figado, carcassa (excluidos o intestino e o sistema nervoso central) e fezes foram analisadas por cronatografia gas-liquido de esteroides apos hidrolise alcalina, extracao e cromatografia camada fina das amostras. As perdas de material foram corrigidas pela edicao de colesterol e acido eolico radioativos as amostras no inicio do processamento metodologico. Os resultados mostram que a excrecao feudal em N permanecer igual a de C mas que houve um real acrescimo no conteudo em colesterol de sangue, figado e carcassa indicando ter havido uma sintese aumentada em N. A possivel relacao entre o metabolismo proteico e sintese hepatica de colesterol na sindrome nefrotica e discutida.
