Kinetic Art: On My Psychokinematic Objects

The author discusses his psychokinematic objects, disks on which designs are painted that give rise to the perception of three-dimensional images, some in motion, when they are rotated at suitable speeds. A number of different types of illusions are possible. Two types that he illustrates are the Benussi and Musatti effects. Two others that he describes he terms topological transformations and topological deformations (the latter is thought by the author to be an illusion not previously known).
