An Enhanced Distributed Channel Assignment Scheme for VANET

In the Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs), because of the high mobility of nodes, the narrow channel and the high density of nodes, making the assignment of channel is very complex. In order to solve this problem, we propose a channel assignment strategy via defining the channel reservation period to reserve channel to reduce conflict of the network, and data can also transmit in the reservation period. Analysis and simulation results show that the proposed strategy can effectively reduce the network conflict, and improve the channel utilization.
