The upgrading of bio-oil from fast pyrolysis of pinus sylvestris were carried out in supercritical ethanol under hydrogen atmosphere using bifunctional catalyst Pt/SO42-/ZrO2/SBA-15. Reduced pressure distillation was firstly applied to remove the water. The liquid products were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy (GC-MS). The results showed that all acids and aldehydes in the bio-oil were removed, the amount of phenols and ketones were greatly reduced after the upgrading process.
