Dot matrix analysis of nucleic acid sequences: an interactive microcomputer program

Abstract A brief microcomputer program which generated dot matrices for the analysis of primary structure homologies in nucleic acid sequences is presented. The program places three options at the disposal of the user: (1) search for repeated sequences, (2)_search for palindromes, and (3) compare two sequences. Writtern in MICROSOFT (tm) BASIC, the program can be run on virtually any microcomputer with little modification.
